Illusion / Reality

Fresh scents, voices
With drumbeats mixing sounds
Everyone seemed joyous around
Candles burning their souls out
Flames swaying to your smile-
The only visible smile

Regardless of the crowd
Last night you were mine
Soul and body totally mine
And if I was to believe in heaven
Then
You must’ve been the Divine

Time bade us its farewell
Gradually stripping to light
But no one seemed around
Only your smile
Only your words
Only your weary eyes

Only heartbeats
Soaring to cloud nine
And suddenly struck
With canons on Lebanon
And dropped in my lap
A bleeding heart

just like life...

once you think that good things are going to last, something bad happens & spolis it... to wake you up.

and the sad ending in your poem spoiled the good feeling in it.
It's not your fault, it's the Humanity's... the bad side of it :(

P.S.
Thank you for your sincere words, they really mean a lot.

Flattered... maybe, Humbled.. yes :)

This hurts. Your poem reminds me of losing something dear to me last summer. Something about tha bleeding heart speaks to me sadly.

I kinda lost hope really, even when this massacre is over there is always something else. It seems we are cursed with wars and killing.

You have a point; I should have called it life. And what I wrote to you did not mean to flatter you, it just came out after reading what you wrote, you did a great job, and I am truly happy that I got to meet you.
And btw; thank your brother for me, the mango was delicious :)

True, sometimes I think that happiness is an illusion and others I think it’s what we create and therefore we should cling to it before it’s lost. And what is a better way to express life but poetry. I know you feel the same. Love you my soul mate.

Sorry sweetie, I couldn’t help it, this is the way I felt. I had a great weekend away from the media and the news, as if I was pretending that nothing is wrong and that the world is beautiful, but was suddenly struck by pictures on the net that changed my mood 180 degrees, I just had to write, I had to let out.

Ah, with our mentalities here and with the constant brainwashing and misinformation that we are fed everyday, I doubt that we can ever be free. But we can always have hope.
Thanks sweetie

My problem with Lebanon is that most people are still pointing fingers whilst the killings continue day in and day out.
Your words are inspirations to me … I just stumbled onto you blog and I’m glad I did.
I will be visiting again soon.

It is amazing really how people readily forget who’s our friend and who’s our enemy, who fought to bring our land back and who cheered for Sadam to slaughter us. It is amazing that after almost 60 years of Israel sovereignty and loads of losses in blood and land in wars, there are some who still think that they can remove it by force and throw it to sea. Peaceful solutions do not have a place in our mentalities. Logic does not count when it comes to Arabs and Muslims. False, empty dignity is their slogan, innocent blood is their weapon.

Thanks dear, I felt bad posting it when I realized that it saddened my friends.
